You CAN eat healthy at a diner, you just have to be demanding. Look at the amount of food here. I happily gave up my coleslaw, skipped the fries and ordered a side of avocado, lettuce and tomato with my turkey burger - and a big side of steamed spinach. The spinach made it to see another dinner. I asked for a toasted english muffin instead of a hamburger bun to skip extra empty calories and most nights I skip the bread altogether. This turkey burger always hits the spot. Make sure you ask if the meat is lean or extra lean, is it frozen or fresh? If it's just a dark meat frozen turkey patty - SKIP IT! The food pictured below is from Good Eats Diner in Maspeth, NY.
